Hi again Carole;
My memory is coming back.........I knew I had seen some reference
somewhere. Our own (University of British Columbia) Dr. Pat McGeer
and Dr. John Steele are involved in Alzheimer research on Guam!

I put their names in the search engine and came up with a few more
sites you can look at: (more recent too....Sept. 1997)

http://publicaffairs.ubc.ca/mr/mr97/mr-97-75.html

http://www.medaccess.com/physical/neuro/psp.htm

Dr. John Steele (a Canadian) is working in Guam with Dr. Ulla-Katrina
Craig. Dr. Craig is the Associate Dean of the College of Nursing and
Health Services at the University of Guam.

My apologies Ron, I'm told there is a familial gene shared by the
natives of New Guinea and the natives of Guam and there is some
connection in the research going on!
