The Parkinsonism reported on Guam is a very peculiar type which is
characterized by both Parkinson's *and* symptoms of amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease).  It seems to occur only
among people of Chamorro ancestry (the indigenous people of Guam and
elsewhere in the Marianas Islands) and from what I remember (and it
has been a long time), it is genetic.

Most people feel that is is totally different from the kind of PD
that we deal with on this List.
