Is this my imagination?? I don't think so. My first ND started me on Parlodel and Sinemet; later he changed me to Permax and Sinemet. When I told him that I didn't want to overmedicate, he said that I might just as well use what is available to get rid of the symptoms. Years later a different ND saw my dyskinesia and cut the agonist out and reduced the sinemet. We hear of some doctors through the list who undermedicate and steer away from sinemet, so maybe it's just our luck of the draw. I was naive at the time re Parkinson's, but it's one good reason to go to a movement disorder specialist or a PD specialist. HMO's, are you listening? Marling is making a good point. By sending us to the right specialist doctor the first time, you might save more of your precious dollars by not having to pay for too much medication or for the wrong medication.
