to whom it may concern:
[log in to unmask]

as one of 1600 members worldwide
of a parkinson's disease on-line listserv support group

and as a recipient of an obvious spam mailing to the entire list
by a customer of yours claiming to have cured parkinson's disease

<writer @writer.maine.rr.com>

i felt it important to bring this usage of your isp facilities
to your attention

no-one can post messages to our list
unless they are subscribed [by permission of the list owner]
and i am confident that 'writer' will be deleted
from the list membership very soon

i have contacted you directly
since i would expect that you would be concerned
in re this scurrilous use of your domain name
and its reflection on your corporate image

i have extracted the following core information
from seven messages of 'fluff':
>-----------------------------------------------------------
>Date: Sun, 15 Feb 1998 06:06:27 -0500
>From: writer <[log in to unmask]>
>Subject: Announcing the Cure for Parkinson's Disease
>-----------------------------------------------------------
>
>Summary
>
>Remove allergens.
>
>Inform patient about the withdrawal process.
>
>Stop all other medications, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and caffeine.
>
>2mg/hour of methylphenidate around the clock.
>(Lower to 1mg/hour if patient is not sleeping better by 3rd night.)
>............
>
>Sleep and rest.
>
>Pay My Bill
>
>All who are helped by this treatment will be required to pay my fee later.
>
>I think I've earned it if I'm right.
>
>I will send the bill later.
>
>Don't worry.
>
>Paying this bill will be pleasurable and voluntary and no payment is
>required until a significant period of improvement has been experienced.
>
>-----------------------------------------------------------

in my opinion
your customer is guility of sending irritating 'spam' e-mail
and is potentially guilty of practicing medicine without a license

i thought you should be informed

best regards
