Mom was diagnosed with PD 5 months ago. She slowly titrated on
carbidopa/levadopa 10/100 to 4 times per day (the only prescription drug
other than zocor for cholesterol). Her doctor, an internal
medicine/geriatrics specialist, added vitamins D,E,B-complex, calcium
and 2 cans of ensure per day. I have seen much improvement in her
condition in the last 5 months.

Should mom see a movement disorder specialist or neurologist at this
time or should she wait to see how the PD progresses? Her symptoms are
slowness, stiffness, PD mask, soft voice, confusion, memory loss, small
handwriting, and occasional tremors.

BTW: I spoke to her dr about this today and he was not opposed to her
seeing a N, and he mentioned the NPF here in south florida. He did
mention that some doctors are aggresive and prescibe many meds and
stated that he likes to move slowly when prescribing new meds.

TIA,
