Well, George,

After having been treated for clinical depression for nearly 2 years,
my tremor came to everyone's attention (I had been hiding it). My
X-gp said it was probably a familial tremor but I should see a neuro.
When I saw the neuro he showed me a letter from my X-gp which said
he believed I had PD and needed it checked out. What a liar.

The neuro sent me for an MRI, x-rays, and other tests (the gp had
already given me a complete battery of blood and other tests).
Then the neuro gave me some more muscle, etc. tests and told me I
have PD. He then gave me some brochures with information, phone
numbers and addresses for PD organizations.

Being a research, information and referral specialist, getting more
info was no trouble, just a little time.

Oh yes, I changed gps and the new one was a wealth of information and
willing to work with the neuro for me.

good luck with other answers.
don't forget how to laugh (and do it often)
