Hiya Carolyn and Hubby (waving)... Welcome to the PD List, whose members indeed ARE friends as you've noticed. In fact, many of us refer to this group as "Family," and that's an honest expression of the closeness and support you'll find here. Soooooo... kick back and relax and make yourself right at home, 'cause you're a part of our family now. I refer to you as FRIENDS because it is so very apparent each of you truly cares about others. My husband has PD. Diagnosed in April 84 at age 44 after several years of going to doctors trying to figure out what was wrong. He retired on disability in '92. I went on Family/Medical leave in May 93 and then officially quit my job in 94. He does better if I'm around. Initially he was treated by a neurologist here in Nebraska, but we have since changed to a doctor who specializes in parkinson's in Memphis, Tennessee. It's a long way to travel for medical care but is well worth the time and money. We've noticed a major difference in how well he does. Look forward to contining to read more information and jokes as time goes by.
