A Thief

A thief came into my life
and took some things away.
I must go on without them
but I find it hard some days.
I must ask for a drink,
for the sink's beyond my reach.
I must ask to go to bed and end
the lesson life had to teach.
One lesson I may never learn
is to tame my temper foul.
For when I think of what PD took,
I simply want to howl!
Perhaps in time I'll accept live's rhyme
and not give vent to my anger dire.
But it is a pain to be nice and tame,
when the cat lets the air out of my tire!
