George:

I think that your idea of info packets is good. However, there should
be a different packet for PWP who are closer to or at retirement age
than for younger persons with PD. I have found the "Parkinson's Disease
Handbook," Young Parkinson's Disease Handbook," and "Good Nutrition In
Parkinson's Disease" very helpful. They are all put out by The American
Parkinson Disease Association (APDA). Frequently I feel overwhelmed by
all the info that I see about PD and having these handbooks for
reference helps me sort it out.

Also, local support groups might want to keep on hand copies of
PARKINSON'S DISEASE: THE COMPLETE GUIDE FOR PATIENTS AND CAREGIVERS
(ISBN 0-671-76819-0) by Abraham N. Lieberman, M.D. and Frank L.
Williams. I refer to this book on a regular basis before talking to either my
family Dr. or to my Neurologist.

I would like to see some info about the benefits of T'ai Chi and
acupuncture for PWP in your packet, but this is based on my own
experience. I don't have any specific reference for this.

Sincerely, Charley 47/7
