Dear Dale, Thank you so much for agreeing to be the speaker at the meeting of the Rutland Regional Parkinson's Support Group on Thursday, March 12. We meet in the libary of Trinity Episcopal Church, 85 West Street in downtown Rutland. The meeting is scheduled to go from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, and you are to kick it off at 2:00. Ou r meetings are truly informal. Rather than set speeches, we are looking for leaders who cover their subjects in a relaxed way, evoking interest snd questions as they proceed and thus creating interactive discussions that are exciting, challenging and informative for speaker and audience alike. Depending on the subject, this sometimes requires the speaker to be deliberately provocative, but I can assure you that our's is an intelligent, knowledgeable group of men and women who are not afraid to speak up and who can keep even the most erudite speakers on their toes! ./ Given this approach, we can be and are extremely flexible in the way we run our meetings. The standard format is an hour for our guest to cover the announced subject followed by an hour for refreshments and off-the-record networking.
