Barbara Patterson Thank you for the welcome. This is my 2nd time on the list . I mistakenly signed off . and missed it greatly. I've found the list very informative it has solved a lot of questions and problems for me . It sure is great to be able to go to my Nuro and know all about new meds . I also enjoyed the exchange between the people with pk. discussing their med actions both good and bad. I personally related my experience with Mirapex., which I'm still on until something better comes along. I'm waiting for Tasmar or Telcapone to be released as it apperar to offer the most significant imfprovements. I'm really impressed with the great people on the pksn. list Presently I'm getting along quite well with Mirapex and sinemet. I was diagnosed with parkinsns in May of 1985 after exstensive testing. (testing lasted for about a year. I was on almost all of the early drug or med's artane, symatryl amantadine, parlodel,Symmetrel, Benadryl, Elavil Etc.and of cource Sinemet. The basis parkinsn Medication I developed severe dyskinesia from the beginning , expecially with sinemet. It was so diaabling that i persued peladotomy surgery to help control this impossible way to live. I am 58 yrs young had bi-level palodotomy. Feb 96 RH and Oct 96 L.H.. I am very pleased with the results. My present Meds/ are sinemet and Mirapex. My need for sinemet is great. (about 1600 to 1800 mg. daily.) My next Med . is anticipated to be Tasmar or Talcapon. when it becomes available. (I am hopeful that Talcapone will enable me to cut down on my sinemet . and still give me better performance Robert H Langer [log in to unmask]
