Debbie, I am 12 yrs parkinson and have been taking Ativan for about 5 yrs. It is a very mild dose 1mg tabs which I take "as needed" during the day (up to three) and 2 at bedtime. These have never hurt me. They act as an antidepressant during the day and help me sleep at night. They also help bannish nightmares. I have stopped them at times with no problem, so I do not feel addicted. Hope this info is helpful. Barbara [log in to unmask]
