------------------ Thank you kindly, Donna, for your explanation of how DNA testing can prove the maternity/paternity of a child. I had heard of a case where a woman from India gave birth to a baby while vacationing in the U.S. and had abandoned it and then returned to India. It was said that, through DNA testing, they found the baby's mother and she was prosecuted for abandoning her baby. I imagine it must have been just by chance that she had had her DNA recorded because certainly there are not that many people who have their DNA on file. ------------------ Janice Long
