Will smoking affect susceptability to PD?

This question came up in the list quite some time ago.
The evidence seems to be, statistically,  that smokers are less likely to=

produce PWP's
than non-smokers.

This should be investigated scientifically, as opposed to statistically, =

it apparently is.

There are lies, big lies and statistics. I don't think there is reason fo=
r
optimism here.
It is sort of like: Will people who get hit by cars, be less likely to
develop PD?
Probably so, because it takes living longer to develop more cases and the=
se
people =

are not likely to live longer.
The same for smokers.
