I'm not one of the many professionals who have studied suicide, but
I observe that people think about it a lot more than commonly
recognized. And, when someone seriously attempts that desperate
final step, the rest of us nearly always think the reason, if
given, was inadequate. There certainly are times when life seems
too hopeless to continue (Think about Hitler and Goering in their
bunker in 1945, or maybe some of Dr. Kevorkian's "patients"), but
those are one-in-a-million occasions. For everyone else, the best
answer is: Stop, don't do it- life is too short as it is.

Around the corner, patiently
Death just waits for you and me
In time, she knows that we will be
Drawn in by curiosity
