Dear Listfriends, The fourth update shows activities in England and Holland/Belgium. The number of states has grown till 13 and 8 cities are on the list. Please E-mail me today, because I will leave tomorrow to San Antonio, where I will attend the wedding of my brother-in-law (forgotten). What about the countries in Europe? France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, Austria etc ? And what does the rest of the world??? ========================= UPDATE 4 ============================ The following states will sign the proclamation for day/month: California, Colorado, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oregon, Tennesse, Texas, Utah, Washington Massachussets is probably signing. The following cities will have activities on World's Parkinson's day or in the month of April : Lima, Ohio Lincoln, Nebraska Houston, Texas Oxford, Ohio Salisbury, ??? Troy, Ohio West Milton, Ohio Vancouver, BC, Canada The following countries will organize activities for World's Parkinson's Day : England : We have our YAPP&Rs (Young Alert Parkinson Patients & Relative's) conference from 17\19th April at Peterborough which, as usual, is fully booked. Also PDS HQ is moving to 215 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1EJ on 25th April. So World PD Day in the UK is being celebrated on 21st April with a big event from the BT Tower in London wwth Government and VIP's attending. There will be video conferencing London\USA and a luncheon. Elsewhere there are local events as it is our Parkinson''s awareness week with the theme of Communication. Our YAPP&Rs conference is the start of the PAW. Then we have the London Marathon with several runners. Belgium/The Netherlands : On April 11 there will be a combined meeting from Dutch and Belgian ppl. This meeting takes place in Begium, near the Dutch border. On April 18 there will be a "Parkinson-Do-Day" on which patients and partners DO something. There will be about a 100 ppl who play games or show their hobby. Other activities in the USA: In observance of World Parkinson's, Oregon Health Sciences Univeristy and the Parkinson's Disease Center of Oregon is sponsoring a seminar on PD for adult Children of PWP's on Thursday April 9. To commemorate the date of April ll, l998, the birthday of Dr. James Parkinson, the Anne Arundel County Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association in the State of Maryland has a member who is an antique dealer. This dealer will sell items at a flea market that would not sell at an antique show and 50% of the proceeds will be given to the Anne Arundel County Chapter. Also, to assist patients, the APDA has created a toll-free line at 888-400-2732.
