here is the second update. Many places have articles in newspapers and
television programs.

The following states will sign the proclamation :

California, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennesse,
Texas, Utah

Washington and Massachussets are probably signing.

The following cities will have World's Parkinson's day activities :

Lima, Ohio      Lincoln, Nebraska       Houston, Texas

The following countries will organize activities for World's Parkinson's Day :

In observance of World Parkinson's, Oregon Health Sciences Univeristy and
the Parkinson's Disease Center of Oregon is sponsoring a seminar on PD for
adult Children of PWP's on Thursday April 9.

To commemorate the date of  April ll, l998, the birthday of Dr. James
Parkinson, the Anne Arundel County Chapter of the American  Parkinson's
Disease Association in the State of Maryland has a member who is an antique
dealer.  This dealer will sell items at a flea market  that would not sell
at an antique show and 50% of the proceeds will be given to the Anne
Arundel County Chapter.

Also, to assist  patients, the APDA has created a toll-free line at
888-400-2732. The Information & Referral Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital
can obtain names of local Parkinson's disease specialists, occupational
therapists,  physical therapists and support groups.
