Dear Jane, I also had that torture test where needles were stuck into various muscles in my legs. It measured the speed of the nerve impulse from one needle to the other over that particular muscle. I believe the test was called "evoked responses". The electric impulse caused terrible contractions of each muscle. It was pure torture and completely useless as I could have told the neurologist that my left leg was slower than my right leg. I feel that it was $125 down the drain and into the doctor's/hospital pockets.
