Tim, your vocal cords have become thinner, and therefore do not allow the air
going through to be moduated properly. There is a procedure which involves
injections of bovine collagen into the area, which takes a few minutes, and is
highly effective, and after it is done a few times, lasts indefinitley. I am
not a doctor, nor am I a victim of PD, but I learned this by reading this
list. For details, you should ask Barb Mallut, who has had the procedure,
twice, I think. There is also a therapy called Lee Silverman Therapy, which
involves training of the voice, and I have also heard it works. So depending
on several factors, such as where you live, or would be willing to travel to,
you have at least two choices, so good luck, and keep us informed.
