Does anyone know the status of the fetal cell transplant operations? There are at least two sites that are supposedly performing these operations: Denver (U of Colorado) and Los Angeles. Sweden also may be performing some. The NIH/Columbia/Denver blind test should be just about wound up. This is a double blind series of about 40 patients, half of whom got the real surgery and half got sham operations. They were then to be evaluated for a year. Is anyone up to speed on transplant surgery? Is it effective? Are all symptoms improved? Does the effect last? What are the dangers? Are they accepting new patients and are they performing the surgeries now? Thanks for any information. George
