George ,Ivan
Please allow me to tell you a short story.
My Brother Chuck had Diabetes. My brother never accepted the fact that he
had the illness. Even though he took his medicine he still liked his ice
cream etc. Not very smart you mite say but I loved him. Not to many years
ago my brother suffered a stroke. It left him partially paralyzed and his
short term memory was gone. My brother was miserable and could not handle
his quality of life and allowed himself to die. I was mad, angry, hurt,
sad.
While I have come to term with my loss it has not made life any
easier I respect his decision but I still love him and miss him.
So where am I going with this. It is nice to say I am FIGHTING. We
all are that's why we are alive. It is nice to say we respect the rights of
others, after all who understands better then we do about how miserable
life can and does get for us. The problem is that all of us get weak and
tired maybe only for a minute or an hour and some of us do do things that
cause other people to say I respect his right to die. While those of us who
are strong can, we must help ourselves and those that are loosing the
battle. We need the cure. We need the research we need the money. How we
get it I will leave those decisions to all of you but while I can I will
help.
My Condolences for your loss Ike. George keep fighting, but please don't
distant your self from others they need your help. Keep up the good work
both of you
