About a year and a half ago, my mother was put in a nursing home (NH) because of confusion. One of the things that the NS wants is trouble free, quiet "clients", so they put her on a variety of drugs that were supposed to "help" her ( read "become trouble free for the NH". She became totally debilitated; could not partake in any activities of daily living. Was almost comatose, would not talk, move, maintain eye contact, etc. We suspected drug problems. After many go rounds, we were finally able to get her off Haldol and onto Zoloft. The change was remarkable; she is able to joke, talk, take exercise, and take part in living. She is mostly back to the way she was when she first entered the NH; confused, very absent minded, but back among the living. Good luck, John
