I am glad to hear we can help more folks. I want to add something; make sure
that all the expenditures are well documented. Because my mother was paying
some people in cash and it was not properly reported, she actually had to pay
income tax last year, and she was operating on a fixed income with many
legitimate deductions, and should have gotten a refund. She was trying to be
"nice" and was penalized. Talking to an accountant long before tax time,
would be a good idea. It is also important to find out if you are elegible
for medicade, in advance. The way you handle savings and investments before
you need care, can make the difference between being comfortable and ending up
as a charity case. If you can pay off a mortgage in advance, it is sometimes a
better place for money than the bank, especially if you need to "spend down"
to quailify for assistance. I do not advocate cheating, but you must take care
of business. [log in to unmask]
