Some folks have been discussing the possibility of providing Congress and other government people the address of the WebRing and the PD site as a method of showing them the impact that PD has in real life (things inside the Beltway aren't real.) While I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea I would like all of you to do something - wait a few days. The reason will come in the form of a surprise, which I will announce sometime next week. Taking the facts and percentages away from the Udall Bill and bringing the need down to the fine focal point of the emotional impact of PD on us, individually, will humanize the request. It's easy to deny a request for $100,000,000 but, like a poster child for Jerry's Kids, when there is a face looking back at you, that denial comes a lot harder. And that fact is what I'm basing the surprise on. So hang on a little while longer. The number two request, which has nothing whatsoever to do with PD for most of you and everything to do with PD for some (like a few who know the taste of Agent Orange), is very personal. HBO has a production called "The Bright, Shining Lie," which will be broadcast on May 30th. My request is that you watch it. A friend of a friend was involved in the production of this show. I haven't seen it but from what I've been told it's quite powerful. The details are way off subject for this list with the exception of those who believe that Agent Orange might be the root cause of their PD. However, the story had (and still has) a big impact on our lives. Number three request: It is my pleasure to announce the opening of our great leader's website.
