Dear Maryhelen, Just put 207 letters to our Michigan congressmen and to members of the appropriations subcommittees on health issues of both houses in the mail and hope to have more. Am hoping for 250. Had wanted 300, but am wearing down. 300 just sounded like a nice round #. A couple of folks have been a bit late in returning signed copies. Have a few more to write. I just felt that at this time of year (think I told you that I'm a teacher and that our year is winding down), my staff wouldn't have written or sent nearly the number I was hoping for or got if I did not totally prepare them. Wish I knew "mail merge," but don't, so ended up doing all the addressing and typing in all of the inside and return addresses myself. Thanks for the feedback on my shell letters. Hope they were helpful. I just sort of thought one might be something someone on one of the "lists" could copy into WORD, put their own address and the address of their congressmen on, stamp and mail it. Not wanting any congressmen to get the same one, I probably ended up with about 20-25 different "shells." The "lists" were spared some of them. Like, you, I have not received just a whole lot of feedback, but that's okay. We know we did it. Right? Actually, it was very therapeutic for me. Doing something helped me to feel some sense of control, tho, as I've said before, it is only an illusion that we are ever in control. Take care, dear friend. Am going to Washington for the PAN Forum. Are you going? Hugs from afar, Barb
