Friends--I'm re-posting this useful message from John Cottingham about things you can find in the list archives. It was written in Jan. 1998. Take note! ################### Camilla, all of those things we used to send by email are on the website now for online reading or printing. The Algorithm has an online version with headings, broken up into 10 pages that looks nicer when printed and is in large type for easy online reading. The online version of the Care-Givers Manual will be ready this week. The version of the Algorithm that we used to send, which had the parts out of order, is revised also. It is available in the Current Topics list...which is on the Parkinsn's Current Topics Treasure page. The Constipation Protocol and the revised Care-Giver manual is also on the Parkinsn's Current Topics Treasure page. The instructions are at the bottom of the page for saving and printing. Browsing Tips: For those new to the internet and not really familiar with using Internet Explorer or Netscape, here are some general tips. In your email, if you see something that looks like an address with a blue line under it, you can move your mouse over it and double click. In most cases, that will start your browser automatically and go to that address. This is the address of the webpages with the Current Topics stuff on them. http://www.ionet.net/~jcott/homepage/index.html On the right hand side of the screen you will see a list of topics. Look for Parkinsn Archive Treasures Page. If you will put your mouse pointer somwhere on those words, they will change color when you click, and go to that page. Everytime you come back to the main page, that topic will keep a different color, showing you have been there before. The length of time in days, weeks or months these stay a different color is determined by your History settings in your browser configuration. If a page doesn't seem to display properly, use the Refresh or Reload button at the top of the browser window to restart the page. If that doesn't work, probably an interrupted or incomplete picture that would normally be on that page is on your hard drive. All of these things you look and hear on the internet, go into an area of your hard drive known as the cache. To overcome the loading problems that occur from time to time, regularly delete the temporary files and your history in Internet Explorer, or if using netscape, clear the cache both memory and hardisk. In both browsers, check the option to have the browser check each time for a new version of the page.....rather than looking at the hard disk cache... Enjoy the pages. They are your 24 hour companion.
