I don't have the reference, but I read somewhere that most of the
dopamine (or is it levodopa?) is in the PODS, which are virtually
inedible, not the beans! Anyway, whichever arrives in your stomach
probably won't make it to where it can benefit your brain, without
the supplement of carbidopa. Carbidopa prevents levodopa from
converting to dopamine, which can't get in, while it is outside
the brain. That's why Sinemet consists of levodopa plus carbidopa.

My daughter, who doesn't have PD, raises fava beans in her garden
and enjoys them a lot- personally, I prefer baby limas. Cheers,
