I believe it was my neurologist who informed me that Amantadine is
 ANTI-VIRAL.

So is Parkinson's Disease the result of a virus??

Would AIDS research on the AIDS virus help uncover the answers to the
 "cause" of Parkinson's?

Ivan,

Amantadine was developed as an influenza antibiotic. It is certainly not a
satisfactory anti PD antibiotic (if a virus causes PD).

To my way of thinking, the therapeutic relationship tends to prove PD not to
be an ongoing viral process.

However, doesn't rule out a viral event initiating it.
