Dear Listfriends, Asking for help. One of the most precious benefits of this list, is that it is a relatively safe place, compared to the rest in the world, for PWP to ask for - and to give help Most of the time, we can look to each other for help with at least some trust.. trust that our request whether understood or not by everyone - is unlikely to be snubbed or rejected. Let's keep that door open -- our common sense is not so easily lost to PD. Let's use it. I am glad that Ivan, a longstanding friend of our list, and a proven advocate who has contributed generously with his efforts for our cause - timely and full funding dedicated to research of PD - found the courage to ask us for our help to overcome an expense barrier that threatens his trip Washington D.C. He's going there to ask for help for us. I think anyone that feels they can give him their frequent-flyer-miles, or if anyone feels he should get monetary assistance, then by all means - send the man what you can. If you don't feel that way, then don't send him anything. But our legislative system almost requires people going to Washington DC to make our needs a priority. It can be personally exhausting knocking on the doors of federal representatives, to say the least! Let's be fair and at least keep the door of common sense open and individually consider whether you think it's correct to help Ivan get to "D.C". Maryhelen
