Hello listfriends all over the world,

It's time to stop the discussion how non-americans should be called!!

An other issue is more important at this moment!

THE UDALL BILL MUST BE FUNDED!!!

WHAT CAN *YOU* DO??? DO NOT DELETE, READ ON AND TAKE ACTION!!!! NOW!!

!! LET THEM KNOW THE WORLD IS WATCHING THEIR ACTIONS !!

At first, like many others I'm sure, I thought that sending a petition
about the Udall Bill to US-Congress could only be done by Americans.
Then I read a posting from Gail Vass, that letters from outside the USA
ARE useful, because they can be co-signed by an American and then be given
to their representatives/senators.

Here's what I did:
I've written such a petition to the Congress.
(partly copying good lines from others, thanks!)
I've put the names of everybody in my supportgroup (57 names) under the
letter (thinking all names would have more impact than just mine) and
emailed it to Gail Vass, who has co-signed it and send copies to her
representatives/senator.
She also has send it to others, to send it to their representatives!!
I have send it to the Parkinson Action Network and several others.
(The petition is following at the end of this email!)

We have to let them know WE DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!!!
We must show them there are no americans or non-americans on the subject of
getting the Udall Bill funded in full!!!
We must show them there is ONE UNITED WORLD-COMMUNITY of people fighting
against PD and waiting for the CURE.
We all MUST support our fellow-fighters EVERYWHERE in this world.
NOW is the time to give our support as much as we can to get the
Udall Bill funded.

WHAT CAN *YOU* DO??

- Read the following petition.
- adjust it where you think it's necessary to state your opinion
- adjust it where NEEDED, so:
   - you can send it only representing you!
   - you can send it on behalf of your supportgroup and fill in your
     supportgroups name and address
   - put the names of the supportgroupmembers under the petition.
- send it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to the following emailaddresses:
(if someone is missing his/her name, let me know or add your name if you
want to receive these petitions too)
(if you need the petition in a seperate email just let me know)

I thank Gail Vass, Janet Paterson and Helen Mason for their support and
their suggestions!!

!! I AM COUNTING ON ALL OF YOU OUT THERE TO TAKE ACTION, NOW !!

Greetings, Hans. (SEE BELOW FOR THE PETITION)

BTW I have removed the 57 names of my supportgroupmembers in this posting
    for reasons of privacy-protection.

To the Members of the United States Congress

Dear Legislators,

We are the patients and caregivers of a Parkinson Support Group in the
Netherlands. Every day we experience the consequences of Parkinson's
Disease. Patients, caregivers, our children and grandchildren are suffering
under the burden of this terrible disease.

The United States Congress has taken a strong and leading role in the world
on many issues. By passing the Udall Bill Congress has recognized the
importance of providing adequate funding for the research necessary to find
a cure for Parkinson's Disease. Congress has set an example for other
countries in the world to follow. Your decision will not only have impact on
the lives of millions of american patients and their relatives, but also on
the lives of many millions of patients and their relatives in the rest of
the world. Therefor we now ask you to give your support to appropriate in
full the funds mentioned in the Udall Bill for direct research on behalf of
Parkinson's Disease.

We appreciate very much that you read this letter and thank you in advance
for your support.

Sincerely

The members of the Parkinson Support Group Zeeland and West-Brabant:
