I am not aware of any unit from Medtronics with an exterior wire:  The wire
between the electronic unit, which is implanted in the upper part of the
chest, and the brain is run under the skin.

However, the placement of the electrode in the sub-thalamic nucleus (STN)
rather than the thalamus can reduce both tremor and dyskinesia, we are told.
