Tim
Welcome to the list. We need professionals such as yourself!
And "congratulations" for diagnosing a PWP in a nursing home and DOING
something about it!
You asked:
> Do you think
>that PWP's would go to a psychologist/psychotherapist/behavioural health
>specialist for management of stress/anxiety/panic/depression/despair, etc
>associated with having PD?

I feel that if a service by a a psychologist/psychotherapist/behavioural health
>specialist for management of stress/anxiety/panic/depression/despair, was
>more readily available, then more PWP would seek out their services. It
>this service was offered, for example AT THE TIME OF DIAGNOSIS and
>incorporated as a natural procedure, rather than something one needs in
>times of crisis, then PWP (and Carers too) would be far more likely to
>make that "leap" to ask for help.

Working closely with a Neurologist or clinic team is obviously the way to
get early referrals.

I have sometimes felt the need for advice from a psychologist but am too
busy and yes, a little reluctant to seek out such a person. Funding is
also another problem for many.

Sincerely
