K. F. is really easy: It stands for Karl-Friedrich which was the first name of
the physicist and mathematician Carl-Friedrich Gauss. It actually worked. I was
named after him and guess what I became: a physicist. What did not work is
usage. My parents, I guess primarily my father, decided that this first name
was a bit long, hence the initials K-F which I use for my first name.

As for Etzold, well what's a sparrow?
