Benedicte,

I was very proud to receive the petition from your Support Group
there in France and I have copied it and sent it to Senator John Warner,
Senator Charles Robb and Representative Tom Davis of my
state of Virginia and district.

I included a cover letter from me urging my elected officials to
consider the global world in which we live when making decisions
that effects us all.

I told them the Whole World Was Watching their actions and are
looking to their leadership to see that the promise of fully
funding the Udall Act was kept for us all.

I believe that every voice is important and should be heard. I
appreciate your effort and encourage your prayers.

Your sister across the ocean,
Gail Vass

                      PETITION

To the Members of the United States Congress

 Dear Legislators,

We are the patients and caregivers of Parkinson Support Groups
 in Europe

Every day we experience the consequences of Parkinson's Disease.
Patients, caregivers, our children and grandchildren are
suffering under the burden of this terrible disease.

The United States Congress has taken a strong and leading role in
the world on many issues. By passing the Udall Bill Congress has
recognized the importance of providing adequate funding for the
research necessary tofind a cure for Parkinson's Disease. Congress has
set an example for other countries in the world to follow. Your decision
will not only have impact on the lives of millions of American patients
and their relatives, but also on the lives of many millions of patients
and their relatives in the rest of the world. Therefore we now ask you
to give your support to appropriate in
full the funds mentioned in the Udall Bill for direct research on behalf
of Parkinson's Disease.

We are conscious that the Udall Bill is America's business. It is a vote
about spending American taxpayers' money on American medical research. No
one else has rights in the matter. But this is not about rights. It's
much simpler than that. This is about DOING what is right. The hope which
sprung from the passing of the Udall Act reached out across national
boundaries, by-passed our governments and
touched each of us individually. So we need your help to do it and
co-ordinating your efforts with your local Parkinson's organisations.

Our grateful thanks.
