[log in to unmask] List folk using Win 95, Unfortunately, I am no (computer)"nerd." However, the other day I spoke with one who walked me through the following: Sometimes ones computer can build up old files from day to day use and Internet surfing. Left long enough they build up to where one starts getting: Much longer time to do chores. Error messages including "short of resources." If this is your case, or if you just want to check on how full these files are: To check on these files, look in "Temporary Internet" and "History" LOOK AT INTERNET TEMPORARY FILES 1 "Start" 2 Select "Programs" 3 Click on "Windows Expl." 4 Find (navigate to) and click on "Windows" Under "Windows:" 5 Look in (click on) "History" 6 Look in (click on) "Temporary Internet" Often one can speed one's system if these excess baggage files are jettisoned: To delete Internet related excess files: 1. Select all --Any way (there are several). One way is to -- Click on "Edit," and. "select all" 2. Click on "File" and "delete" To delete all others (some of which will be also Internet related-esp. the "*.art" files): 1. "Start" select "find" 2. Find "*.tmp" files, select them all and drag them to the "Recycle Bin" 3. Find "*.art" files and do likewise. Follow this with a "scandisk" and a "defrag" and you should be in great shape.
