Dry mouth with antidepressant use can cause cavities, oral infections WESTPORT, Jul 08 (Reuters) - Patients taking antidepressants should be counseled about oral health risks resulting from hyposalivation associated with long-term use of the drugs, according to researchers in the Netherlands. Dr. F. P. M. L. Peeters of the Community Mental Health Centre in Maastricht and colleagues there and in Groningen recommend that "...attention to the oral health of the patient should be part of routine clinical practice," because of the increased risk of dental caries and oral infections. http://ipn.intelihealth.com/ipn/ihtIPN?c=191460 _
