CArol is correct herpes zoster -or varacella (zoster) stays with you. You do not get zoster unless you have had chickenpos and then not unless there some stress of some kind -either physical or sometimes mental. It usually does not show up (after chicken pox) untill the person is older or if they have and immune supression disease (cancer etc.-don't decide you have cancer because I wrote that). It is treatable and usually visable. Follow nerve dermatones (paths)-most commonly in the thoracic ares. You would be very sick if you had herpes encephalitis. The one thing you need to watch is if the lesions get near the eyes. In fact you should see a doctor if you have it at all. because it is painful and can give kids who have not been immunized or had chicken pox. Chickenpox is evenly distributed between genders -not just women. I did not see any study about it()doesn't mean that one was not done). Nita
