Lupe McCann and I have completed a review and compilation of all the NY State Support Groups. The list is sorted by area codes but can be sorted by any of the fields. We will be happy to make a copy of the list available to anyone with a reasonable interest in the list. Just send me a request and a stamped self addressed envelope and we will send you a copy. The following letter will be sent to all the SG leaders on the list today or tomorrow. Memo to New York State Support Group Leaders The enclosed list represents an accurate and up to date list of the NYS Parkinson Active Support Groups. I have verified the information contained there on with but three exceptions. The three groups without complete addresses I could not verify. I am mailing a copy to each of you for helping with the project and to check the accuracy of the mailing label program. To assist in the completion of the project please consider the following requests: 1. Check the accuracy of your group's information and advise me of any corrections. 2. If you know of a group not included in this list please send me information to place them on the list. 3. Please advise me of the number of families on your mailing list so that we can try to estimate the Number of PD patients in NYS. This count will at least represent the minimal number of PWP disease in NYS. 4. If you form new groups or have changes (like Leaders) in the future please advise me so that I can keep the list up to date. I would like to thank representatives of the Parkinson Disease Foundation, The American Parkinson Disease Foundation and the National Parkinson Foundation for supplying copies of their support group lists to the development of this information. Each of the organizations will receive a copy of the data base on a floppy disc so they can down load the information into their computers. Again thanks for your help.
