My husband is taking fosamax for osteoporosis. He has been taking it for
about six weeks and has had no reactions. The only problem is the
inconvenience of having to take it first thing in the morning before
anything else including other medications and then having to wait a minimum
of half an hour (but better one to two hours) in order to get the most
benefit from the drug. It prevents more calcium from leaching out of the
bones and perhaps allows some to be added. Also, he is not to go back to
bed but to remain upright because it can cause an ulcerated esophogus. He
also takes sinimet and mirapex.
