"The source of the problem can come from several different levels, including: 1. Hardware: a clock circuit that may be incapable of holding a date beyond 1999 2. Operating System: may not correctly recognize and process dates beyond 1999 3. Applications and utilities: may have limited date-processing capabilities The Mac is Y2K compliant. However, a few apps for the Mac may not be. Any Mac OS application that makes correct use of the Mac OS Toolbox for clock functions will not have a problem transitioning to the year 2000.
