Hi Barbara Bell, you wrote...... I hope someone can help. My husband Charlie, 90/7+, has an excess of phlegm in his throat and he complains that he can't loosen it up. He coughs and tries to clear his throat but it has become almost impossible to do so. Has anyone else had this experience? Does anyone know of something that could possibly dissolve the phlegm? I'm not even sure that this is Parkinson's related but we would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you. Barbara Bell, cg for Charlie, 90/7+ Well Barbara, I think this is Parkinson's related. I have had problems clearing my throat for about 30 years now and if this is a Parkinson's symptom then it is one of my earliest. I don't have any solution to the problem but I have a few suggestions...... Avoid milk products like ice cream or a milk shake. Try hot tea and a little honey. Seems to work for me. All the best ........... Murray [log in to unmask]
