Excuse me Jacob, but I cannot believe God inflicts illness, accidents, etc. as punishment for sins we commit. We often bring things on ourselves because of our choices but I prefer to think of God as grieving and suffering with us and giving us direction and strength to either right the wrongs or endure the pain.
