He even said the painkillers my primary dr. was prescribing can result in rebound headaches, ie. they prevented the pain from the 1st migraine but by changing the blood flow pattern, caused a subsequent headache. He then gave me the neck/shoulder exercises, possible dietary causes(chocolate, caffeine, tannins like from grape skins) to name a few. He also suggested reducing stress levels and keeping regular sleep/wake patterns. It seems sleeping late some mornings can cause some people to have migraines....I don't remember why. >>>> Hello Marling, William and Jeanette, At first it was not clear to me that you (Marling, Jeanette) were using the ice for migraines resulting from dyskinesia or exercises. In the case of your migraines you are of course right in using the ice afterwards! William: a SHORT given stimulus with ice (up to a minute) reduces the bloodflow, a MEDIUM given stimulus with ice (1-9 minutes) increases the bloodflow, a LONG given stimulus with ice (10 minutes or more) reduces the bloodflow again. BTW: If someone had migraines before PD, did the migraines get less frequent and less severe, as PD progressed?? Did the use of certain meds for PD cause a worsening of the migraines again?? Hans.
