Gina....

I just read your message to Jerry and didn't know whether to laugh or cry at
your description of our "future leaders." <rueful smile>

Then I thought of my own two daughters, now 33 and 29, and THEIR friends. And
hey.... THEY survived their teen years and early twenties, and so did I!
Even tho every pair of jeans 'n T-shirts they wore - and that's ALL they wore
- had tears and rips at the knees 'n tushies we DID survive! <grin>

Both learned to be outstanding earners/business persons, can put Wolfgang Puck
to shame in the kitchen, and are bright, active, and caring. Oh..... and both
have a marvelous fashion sense NOW and dress with style and flair.

I believe there's hope for the future... as long as we aren't expecting that
future to arrive tomorrow or the next day, 'cause they're all busy right now
sending messages to each other on their pagers and yacking on their cell
phones... <grin>

Dear Jerry:
The one line you used about the future generation in control of the world. I
have seen them. My daughter is one of them. She dresses in black and wears
fangs for heavens sake. She plays Live Action Games. The Masquerade, she has
friends who play Werewolf Live Action. I have seen their clothes. Now I never
wanted my undergarments to show. But now it is an honor to see 15" of boxers.
What's with the baggie pants? If we made these children wear this clothing I
can hear it now. I can't seem to bring my mind accept a President, in baggies,
15" of Fruit of the Loom, a shirt that is huge but cut to the waist so you can
see his or her Fruit of the Loom. Most of the shirts are of football jerseys,
signature shirts with foul language on them. Heads shaved when I remember the
Beatles, Buffalo Springfield, Santana, They had hair and lots of it. They had
tatoos also, but were somewhat hidden. It will be tough watching the Pres give
the State of the Nation address dressed Grunge with tatoos everywhere of
questionable sense. Then to top it all off a hat. A simple little baseball
cap. Now, whats up with that. It really doesn't complete with picture.
Jerry, I have seen the furture, they wear fangs to the Prom. They change their
names. They men/guys have hair down to the middle of their backs. My daughter
has dressed in black since 3rd grade. It was very difficult to find black
denim jeans. For 10 years in a row.
Jerry I have seen who will inherit the future, and I weep. Nah, they will
probably do just as good a job. Although, judging from my daughter, she can't
cook, and really has no desire to. Eating out is fine. You cannot work on
Saturday that is game day and you need most of the day to get ready. She does
look pretty. She is very pretty. Some of the lights are burned out but she
tries.
