Here in Australia this year's Parkinson's Awareness Week is being held from
the 5th to the 13th of September. I know that makes it a nine day "week" but
you know parkies - everything takes that bit longer. PD Week activities in
Western Australia will include:

- a seminar/forum at which a panel comprising health professionals (one from
each of the disciplines involved in PD) a carer and a PWP will be available
to answer any PD related questions.

- an "open invitation" picnic and walk in the beautiful setting of Kings
Park which overlooks the city of Perth and the Swan River.

- PD displays at all major hospitals.

- PD displays at some suburban shopping malls.

- An "open invitation" "Sausage Sizzle" at Araluen Botanical gardens.
Araluen is situated in the hills to the east of Perth and is famous for its
spring time display of tulips. Sept is spring in the southern hemisphere.

- all of the above will receive as much media attention as we can generate.
