Sinemet can cause a drop in blood pressure and therefore cause dizziness.,
A heart attack [a blocking of a coronary artery] is a different matter.
People with Parkinson's have heart attacks about like everyone else.

Date: Monday, August 03, 1998 3:18 PM

hi all,

Does anyone know about this sort of thing...got me kinda worried..

I don't mean to alarm anyone...of course...but my friend that was taking 2
Sinemet
10/100 every four hours just recently went into the hospital for a knee
replacement and while she was in the hospital she had a heart attack...the
dr said she was taking too much sinemet, she also had given a pint of blood
before the surgery which was
last tuesday...and after giving the blood she was really dizzy and kept
being dizzy for some time...

I am concerned because my hubby is on Sinemet 50/200 twice a day and
then reg sinemet 25/100 at nite...he seems fine but I will ask the dr just
the same.

gosh...we don't need any heart attacks do we!..........

i don't know all the details....my friend has restless legs not pd.....her
legs are better now and all she is taking is quinine...not sinemet...

Coleen :-)
