Hello everyone,

My name is Jane Bracken and I just joined the list this Monday, and have
been reading everything since then. This is a great forum and very
informative.

My mother, who is now 57, was diagnosed 2 years ago. I seem to be the
only family member who realizes the seriousness of the disease and have
been spending a lot of time trying to track down information, attend the
doctor's visits with her, finding support groups, etc. She has just
bought a computer so as soon as I can set her up, I hope to get her
on-line herself.

She is still on Eldepryl, but feels she is getting worse lately. She
has had severe pain in her shoulder for the past few months, and the
doctor has said she has 'frozen shoulder', where fibers have developed
in her shoulder joint. I know it's easy to blame everything that
happens on this condition, but we wonder if it could somehow be related
to the stiffness that she is experiencing in her head and neck.

Again, thanks for such a great forum. I have been searching in vain for
more information on her meds and was 'thrilled'(?) to find the Drug
Database, and to find out other drugs, such as Demerol, which should not
be taken with Eldepryl.

I thought I was keeping up on the latest issues, but the news about the
Udall Act and other things I've learned this past week shows me how much
there is to learn.
