That could make your computer particularly valuable, as it can send faxes to congressional offices in Washington, DC, without telephone toll charges - since you live in the Washington area already. For those of us in the boonies, like Texas, Illinois, California, and even New York <G>, the cost of a one-minute fax (typical for one page) is the same as the cost of a one-minute phone call . Not a problem if you send one fax - but it could get to be a big expense if you send hundreds. (Yes, cheaper than snail-mail, but we're still talking about lots of money.) E-mail, on the other hand, is free, but possibly treated less seriously. Example: you can send a hand-written note via fax, with the additional impact that has; but all e-mail may look the same. Your son, Jed, may have a ready answer for you on this - but if we decide to go to a fax-in, all of the computers of listmembers in the Washington, DC, telephone exchanges may also prove valuable in this regard.
