I asked Ms Orvis to send me this information again. Researchers at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City are conducting a research project on the genetics of PD. The causes of PD are currently unknown. We believe there may genetic factors that play a role in its development. We do not yet know to what extent environmental factors such as diet, smoking, or other lifestyle factors are important for development of PD. Although we collect some basic environmental information, our main goal is to determine the genetic risk factors . In order to do this, participants are asked to supply information about their family tree. Once this information is reviewed by our staff we may wish to peruse is reviewed by our staff we may wish to peruse your family further.
