Joy, I did post this idea a while back, but it was well over a year ago; maybe two years ago, so you may have heard from someone else. I had just kind of discovered that writing that way I could make myself legible at least to myself. Well, it worked for awhile, then I went to all capital letters writing this way, and finally I have given up writing. I just decided not to try to fight mother nature any longer, especially with a handicap as easy to overcome as is poor handwriting. I have a big old clunky 9lb laptop computer, which is good for writing away from home, and a portable printer (you can now get them as small as a box of aluminum foil.). The price of laptops is finally starting to come down and they now make them less than 2 lbs. I haven't had much success with electric label makers. though. Casio's failed right away, and Brother's eats batteries like nothing I have ever seen. I also got a brand new Brother electric typewriter for $69 with auto correct for filling out forms, apps. etc. The absolute best way is just to get someone else to do the writing for you. I have never had anyone not be polite when asked. This little writing trick turned out eventually to be too slow. -----Original Message----- From: Bob & Joy Graham <[log in to unmask]> To: Multiple recipients of list PARKINSN <[log in to unmask]> Date: Sunday, August 09, 1998 1:27 AM Subject: Re: Freezing techniques - & reversals >I also remember reading (from this List I am sure) that if you are having >trouble with small cramped writing, that if you write the letters from >bottom to top and from right to left instead of the normal way - that is, >reversing them, then you can make a good big letter (printing is best for >this) > >Bob tried this when we were having to label boxes (on our last move) and it >worked really well, especially for a few critical words. > >We showed this writing technique to a PD specialist OT in Melbourne and she >was amazed and delighted and kept the sample of Bob's work! > >Fooling the brain again... > >Cheers > >Joy Graham
